The standard mandap structure should be four pillars and is said to represent the Four Veda’s as well as the four goals of a fulfilled Hindu Life being Dharma, Artha, Karma & Moksha. The four pillars normally made of solid wood also represents the parents of the couple, whose love and support goes with the couple after their marriage.

Silk Mandap
This picture features VIP’s original Mandap which can be transformed into many various styles and colours depending on your decor.  
You can either opt for a more traditional vedic look adding haldi and sindoor coloured torrans, flower garlands and the richness of indian fabrics which can also be incorporated in your floor coverings and cushions.
 

Roman Pillar Mandap
For a more sophisticated look you can add roman pillars, roman urns with cascading ivy and embellish it with ivory silks or satin fabrics.
